The Right Shot Put*
From a bio-mechanical point of view, a larger shot will give a greater contact area and push zone resulting in a farther throw. But it is not necessary that the largest shot is the most suitable.
It is essential to select the most suitable diameter of shot based on your finger size. Finger length is critical. The shot must rest on the pad (callus) of the palm and the fingers must be up the side of the shot. Throwers with shorter fingers may find that the smaller diameter shot feels better at delivery and similarly, those with longer fingers may like the feel of the larger diameter shot.
The best shot is the one that is perfectly balanced with equal weight distribution across the mass of the shot.
Our new trademark KIN-O-MAX technology addresses all these issues with a perfect Shot Put for all throwers!
Traditional Shots are hollowed metal balls filled with heavier metals like lead/tungsten and then sealed with a plug. The throwers usually need to find the sweet spot on the shot which requires expertise, experience, time and concentration. KIN-O-MAX Shot Puts are homogenous in construction with evenly spread out weight for a perfectly balanced Shot. They also do not have a plug and have a seamless surface thus helping the thrower concentrate 100% on the throw!!
